At a glance
- FC Barcelona are among the clubs to have shown early interest in Bayer Leverkusen forward Christian Kofane.
- Agent Eric Depolo confirms that the Catalans are among those keeping an eye on his situation.
- Arsenal are leading the race for his signature.
FC Barcelona are always scanning the market for potential opportunities.
Within this approach, the club tracks many names, some who may not even be reported in the media. However, as Barça continue their search for more attacking options, they are among the clubs interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Christian Kofane.
Agent Eric Depolo Confirms Barcelona Interest
With 15 goal contributions this season, Kofane has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe. “Arsenal’s interest is genuine, Arteta likes him a lot”, says his agent. However, they are not the only club in the race, as many top teams are keeping tabs of his situation in Germany.
When asked about interest from other parties, Eric Depolo specifically mentioned “Chelsea, Newcastle, Everton, Brentford, Barcelona, and Bayern.”
Contact With FC Barcelona
Other than Arsenal, Barcelona has also made contact to enquire about the forward. This comes as no surprise, as Barça is actively tracking the forward market. The club is looking to sign a new attacker this summer and are evaluating all possible options, regardless of whether it will involve a high or low financial investment.
At the moment, Arsenal are leading the race, with an offer expected soon.
FC Barcelona, on the other hand, have just made contact, for now. With the priority being Alessandro Bastoni and potentially Julian Alvarez, the club isn’t currently giving Kofane much thought.
In the midst of this, as ReadBarcelona and Reshad Rahman reported yesterday, aging veteran Robert Lewandowski has been offered another 12 months and reduced pay on his terms which expire on June 30, 2026.
