The station’s Que T’hi Jugues program explains that the midfielder has advised his agent to listen to potential exit offers.
This decision is inspired by a lack of prominence in 2025/2026. With just 19 appearances in La Liga, Casado has only enjoyed 1276 minutes across all competitions and 14 starts.
A Culer through and through, Casado would love to stay at the club of his dreams. At 22, however, he should seek pastures new if he doesn’t feel important.
That’s what Pau Victor did amid competition from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, and he’s now thriving at Braga.
Barcelona know there’s interest in Casado
Deco and Barca’s board know of interest in Casado meaning there’s a real possibility he leaves ahead of next term.
This could be on loan, with Eric Garcia‘s case testament to the benefits of going to earn playing time elsewhere at a club such as Girona.
Further afield, though, Casado has been linked to Saudi Arabia, and even touted as a possible bargaining chip in a part exchange deal with Al-Hilal involving Joao Cancelo.
Barcelona can afford to lose Casado
As a La Masia product, Casado’s sale is interesting because it presents pure profit.
In an overbooked midfield, Hansi Flick can also afford to lose him. Though at one time a starter alongside Marc Bernal in 2024, Frenkie de Jong‘s return ended Casado’s momentum and he’s never recovered since.
Even with both of those players out injured, Casado’s name isn’t in the running as he’s lost protagonism to them and also Garcia.
He could start on Saturday against Espanyol. But that’d be more as part of a rotation plan ahead of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal second leg than moving up the pecking order.
In what is always one of the most competitive areas of the squad, Barca can afford to lose Casado from a sporting perspective and profit from it financially.
