- Robert Lewandowski’s FC Barcelona contract expires on June 30, 2026.
- His teammates reportedly believe the Pole will leave the club after four successful years.
- Italy, the United States and Saudi Arabia are all possible next destinations.
The FC Barcelona locker room has taken it “for granted” that Robert Lewandowski will leave the Spotify Camp Nou when his contract expires according to AS.
Lewandowski’s terms expire on June 30, 2026. Joining from Bayern Munich in a €50 million transfer four years ago, the Pole is bound to go down as a modern day club legend.
Champions League glory has eluded him just like his manager Hansi Flick and other heavyweights including Raphinha and Pedri.
Yet what will soon be three La Liga titles in four seasons among a string of Copa del Reys and Super Cups speak to domestic dominance. Irrespective of what he does next, Lewandowski is bound to be remembered. Furthermore, he can etch his place into the record books too.
On 119 goals that come at a return of almost 30 per year, Lewandowski can creep into the club’s top 10 all-time scorers. With four league games remaining, there are plenty of chances to do so.
Josep Escola is immediately ahead of him on 120, while Carles Rexach and Patrick Kluivert are within touching distance on 122.
Yet Lewandowski’s next goals could be his last in Blaugrana. Or at least that’s what his teammates expect. At a time when he’s being linked to Italy, the United States and Saudi Arabia, Lewy’s swan song could be at the Mestalla against Valencia on the weekend of May 23-24.
Flick seems to know what Robert Lewandowski does next
Asked about Lewandowski’s future at a prematch press conference before the weekend, Flick said: “I’ve spoken to him, but that’s between us.”
Rather than let him run down the clock on the bench, however, Flick has shown is faith in Lewandowski as of late. Ferran Torres replaced him in the starting line up last month. Yet in the last two outings in Getafe and Pamplona, it’s Lewandowski that got the nod.
Lewa paid back that faith with an important assist in the former fixture and a goal in the last. As for Lewandowski, he dreams of “a parade with the fans” which will be “wonderful”.
That can be booked immediately by beating Real Madrid in El Clasico. Who knows if Lewandowski can be a protagonist in the world’s biggest derby one last time, if he’ll truly depart.
