  • Situation: No negotiations or concrete contacts ongoing.

Salah’s Barcelona Admiration Remains — But No Move Is Expected

Mohamed Salah’s admiration for Barcelona is well known, and according to information shared by Egyptian journalist Ismael Mahmoud, the Liverpool forward once genuinely dreamed of playing for the Catalan club.

Salah supported Barcelona during his younger years and viewed the club as one of the great destinations in world football. However, despite that admiration, there is currently no indication that a move could materialise in the near future.

It is known that Salah himself understands the situation realistically and recognises that, at this stage of his career, a transfer to Barcelona would be difficult.

Barcelona Focused on Different Priorities

From Barcelona’s side, there has been no concrete movement regarding the Egyptian forward. The club has not initiated discussions, nor have there been signs internally that Salah is being considered as an active target for the upcoming window.

Instead, Barcelona’s transfer planning is currently centred around different priorities. Particularly younger attacking profiles who align more closely with the club’s long-term sporting and financial strategy. If there’s a player who Barcelona would like to go all out for this summer, it is Julian Alvarez, from whom they are waiting to see an official move from him before facilitating a transfer.

The sporting department continues to prioritise players who can fit within a sustainable salary structure while also representing future investment value. Given Salah’s age and contractual demands, the operation does not currently fit the framework Barcelona are working under.

Respect and Admiration Remain

That said, Salah continues to be deeply respected within the football world and admired for the level he has maintained over the years.

Even now, he remains one of the most decisive forwards in European football, combining elite production with consistency at the highest level. His profile naturally commands attention whenever uncertainty surrounding his future arises.

However, admiration and realistic transfer possibilities are two separate things – and at this moment, Barcelona appear focused elsewhere.

No Concrete Scenario at Present

While the idea of Salah one day playing in Spain may always generate intrigue, the current reality is straightforward:

The player admires Barcelona, who have respect the player. But there is no active operation or concrete intention from either side right now.

As things stand, Barça’s focus remains on other profiles and priorities as they continue shaping the squad for the future.
