- Manchester United are clear: Pay €30 million or Rashford returns to Old Trafford this summer.
FC Barcelona have already begun planning for next season while having identified some businesses to do this summer as part of the transfer window.
However, one thing the club is still evaluating is whether they should keep Marcus Rashford permanently beyond this season.
Barcelona are evaluating all possible scenarios
Everything remains open around the English winger’s future, as Barca remain unclear on what to do.
They have a €30 million buy-option included in a loan deal with Manchester United, but the club is unsure of whether or not they should activate it.
Hansi Flick is pleased with Rashford’s performances and as well as his attitude in training. The club on the whole is also happy regarding his professionalism on and off the pitch, but they’re considering other routes to get him.
Among them is negotiating with United over a second one-year loan, but it’s very unlikely the English team will give in to this option, considering they know they can sell Rashford this summer to another club.
Manchester United’s Stance
The Red Devils are clear on their position: Either Barcelona pays the €30 million or they will sell Rashford to another interested party this summer.
It should be worth noting that the forward has had an impressive season so far, especially in the Champions League, and there will be clubs interested in the summer.
On the continent, Rashford has five goals and four assists while notching four goals and assists in La Liga. In Raphinha’s injured absence, the Three Lions has the chance to step up and improve those numbers starting with Saturday’s La Liga meeting with Atletico and a two-legged UCL clash that kicks off on Wednesday.
Barcelona are also planning for a future in case they don’t keep Rashford, and that is why they are monitoring low-cost options on the wings as I reported earlier this week.
