Roony Bardghji ACL Surgery a Success as Barça Teammates Rally Round
Roony Bardghji has come through surgery on the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, and the 20-year-old forward has already set the tone for the months ahead. “The road back starts now,” the Swede wrote from his hospital bed after the operation — a message that will resonate with every Culer.
Barcelona confirmed the news in an official statement: “First-team player Roony Bardghji has successfully undergone surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The procedure was performed at Hospital de Barcelona by Dr Joan Carles Monllau, under the supervision of the FC Barcelona Medical Services.”
The injury came in training, after Hansi Flick had left him out of the trip to Udine, just as Bardghji was expected to move on before the window closes. He was ruled out for up to seven months once the tear was confirmed; the club have put no timescale on his recovery, though Barça Blaugranes reports he is expected to miss at least six months as he recovers from his second ACL operation.
Teammates at Bardghji’s bedside
Héctor Fort, Gavi, Pedri and Alejandro Balde all dropped in at Hospital de Barcelona to lift his spirits, and according to Mundo Deportivo, Bardghji shared a photo of the visit on Instagram with a simple message: “I love you, friends — thanks for coming.” The Swede closed his first Blaugrana season with two goals and four assists across 28 appearances.
Any move away is off the table now, and the focus turns squarely to recovery — with the whole dressing room behind him.
