Ferran Torres to PSG Sealed as Barcelona Bank €50m

Ferran Torres is leaving Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain after the two clubs reached a full agreement on Thursday, with the fee set at just under €50 million and no add-ons attached, according to Mundo Deportivo. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano followed with his trademark “here we go”, confirming the deal. The 26-year-old Spain forward has agreed a five-year contract and will join Luis Enrique’s side once he passes a medical in Paris.

The move ends a saga that gathered pace all week. Ferran sat out training on Wednesday and Thursday with the club’s permission while talks concluded, having earlier seen PSG’s first bid rejected.

For Barcelona, the maths made sense. Mundo Deportivo notes the fixed fee recovers almost all of the €55m paid to Manchester City in January 2022, spares the club an €8m clause owed to City had he renewed, and books an accounting profit of around €35m while freeing squad-cost room for further business. Ferran leaves months after his World Cup final heroics for Spain, and off the back of the best campaign of his Barça career.

‘All done’ — Ferran Torres gets his Paris move

“Deal confirmed for World Cup final hero as Barça receive a fee worth €50m from PSG. Ferran only wanted Paris and the agreement has been sealed after being at final stages for several days. All done,” Romano wrote.

The remaining steps are administrative: contracts to be formalised and a medical to pass, with the forward expected in Paris imminently and official confirmation to follow. Then attention turns to how Hansi Flick redistributes the minutes — and the wage room — the Shark leaves behind.
