Lamine Yamal’s bicycle kick against Oviedo has been voted FC Barcelona’s Goal of the Season after a fan poll on the club’s official app attracted more than 15,000 votes.
The club confirmed the result on 15 June, with the teenager’s acrobatic finish chosen ahead of efforts from Pedri, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres. The goal came in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Oviedo and has now been recognised as the standout strike from another season in which Yamal’s influence kept growing.
Barcelona said the goal was selected by supporters after voting through the official app, according to the club’s official update on the Goal of the Season vote.
Yamal award underlines Barcelona’s latest homegrown headline act
For Barcelona supporters, the award is more than a highlight-reel footnote. Yamal’s finish combined instinct, confidence and technical audacity, all qualities that have made him one of the central figures in Hansi Flick’s side.
The other shortlisted goals offered their own arguments: Pedri’s strike at Levante, Olmo’s derby finish at the RCDE Stadium and Torres’ El Clasico goal after a flowing team move. Yet the vote landing with Yamal says plenty about how strongly fans connected with his breakout moments.
It also gives Barcelona another neat marker of the winger’s growing status before attention turns fully to pre-season and the next campaign.
