Supercopa 2027 Heads to Istanbul as Barça Draw Atlético
The 2027 Supercopa de España has found its home. The RFEF has confirmed that Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium will stage the Final Four from 2 to 7 February 2027, with holders Barcelona opening the defence of their trophy against Atlético Madrid in the semi-finals.
The tournament leaves Saudi Arabia for one edition only because the dates clash with the Asian Cup. According to Mundo Deportivo, the federation weighed up seven candidate venues before settling on Istanbul, with the competition pushed back from its usual January slot and Saudi Arabia expected to return as hosts in 2028. The Atatürk staged the Champions League finals of 2005 and 2023.
How the Supercopa draw shapes up
Barcelona qualify as LaLiga champions and will meet Atlético, last season’s Copa del Rey runners-up, in one semi-final. Real Sociedad, the Copa winners, face league runners-up Real Madrid in the other. As Barça Universal notes, the Blaugrana arrive as back-to-back winners of the competition, having beaten Real Madrid in the 2026 final after lifting the trophy in the 2024–25 season too.
For Hansi Flick — who has already warned his players against a slow start — it is a February date with silverware to circle in the calendar, and the chance to make it three Supercopas in a row.
