Women’s Clasico at the Camp Nou Confirmed: Barça Host Real Madrid on 4 October

The last time Barça Femení and Real Madrid met at the Spotify Camp Nou it was a Women’s Champions League night. Mundo Deportivo’s captions on Tuesday carried both details: the tie was last April, and the Barça women filled the Camp Nou for a Champions Clasico. The recent home league Clasicos on Mundo Deportivo’s list, by contrast, were at Montjuïc. From 4 October, the women’s Clasico at the Camp Nou is a league fixture too.

Women’s Clasico at the Camp Nou: what Liga F confirmed

Mundo Deportivo’s Roger Torelló reports that the Barça–Real Madrid fixture in the Liga F Moeve, matchday six of the championship, will be played at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday 4 October. The kick-off time is still to be confirmed.

The intention had already been flagged. Xavi Puig, the Barça board member responsible for women’s football, said as much last Friday in a TV3 interview after the women’s Joan Gamper Trophy, and Liga F Moeve made it official on Tuesday.

“This year, of course, we will play as many matches as possible at the Spotify Camp Nou,” Puig said then. “On 4 October, the first, I think it will be against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou. Obviously, we are very clear about all of it.”

Third time at the Camp Nou, first in the league

Mundo Deportivo list the precedents, and there are not many. Of Barça’s home Clasicos played away from the Estadi Johan Cruyff, two have been at the Spotify Camp Nou — a 5-2 win in the 2021/22 Women’s Champions League and a 6-0 win in the 2025/26 edition. The other three were at Montjuïc, all in Liga F: a 5-0 win in 2023/24, a 1-3 defeat in 2024/25 and a 4-0 win last season.

So 4 October will be the third time Barça and Real Madrid have met at the Spotify Camp Nou, and the first of those in Liga F. Liga F Moeve made it official, and it lands where Puig said the club wanted its Real Madrid fixtures to be.

It is a fixture a changed dressing room will walk into. Mundo Deportivo reported this month that Patri Guijarro is now the team’s first captain, with Alexia Putellas out of the captaincy group; MD reported it, the club did not announce it. In her first speech in the role, Guijarro said the squad were ready to compete for five titles.

The Champions League money confirmed the same day

A second piece of Femení news arrived on Tuesday afternoon. Mundo Deportivo’s Ramón Fuentes reports that Barcelona’s Women’s Champions League win over OL Lyonnes in May — a final MD’s caption places in Oslo — will put as much as €650,000 into Spanish women’s football through UEFA’s solidarity payments.

The mechanism, as the scheme sets out and MD relay it: UEFA are distributing 16.34% — €6.2m — of the estimated €37.7m the governing body took in from the competition, to federations that entered at least one club, to be shared equally among the top-flight sides that did not play in the centralised phase. In Spain that means €50,000 each to 13 of the 16 Liga F Moeve clubs. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid are excluded, all three having played in the Champions League group stage. France are next, with €315,000 split nine ways at €35,000 a club.

The two stories are unconnected; they simply arrived within a couple of hours of each other on the same Tuesday afternoon.

The women’s Clasico at the Camp Nou has its date. The kick-off time is the only thing left.
