  • FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick delivered a domestic treble in his first season and is on his way to another ‘triplete‘ which could include the Champions League.
  • His current 2025/2026 team is also making history in the statistical record books, however, and has achieved a milestone not witnessed since Pep Guardiola’s European kings in 2010/2011.
  • FC Barcelona are unbeaten at home in the league so far this term, whether it’s in the Johan Cruyff Mini Estadi, Montjuic or the Spotify Camp Nou.

Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona are not only winning, they’re also smashing longevity records in Spanish football.

Following their latest results – 5-2 and 1-0 wins over Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano respectively – the Blaugrana have achieved a historic milestone that has us dusting off the archives.

More specifically, it’s a run of goals and victories not seen since the Pep Guardiola era in 2010/2011.

After beating Rayo at the Spotify Camp Nou, the Catalans have won every home game in La Liga so far this season, which entails a run of 15 consecutive victories at a rate of 3.13 goals per game.

Pep’s Champions League winners managed this in the mentioned former campaign, and Flick’s men can go one better with 16 consecutive triumphs by bettering Espanyol at home in the derby on April 12.

Barça’s home matches in 2025/2026:

A return to the FC Barcelona days of old

To find a precedent similar to Flick’s current dominance, we must go back to a run across the 1957/1958 to 1960/1961 seasons according to SPORT.

In that period, Barça were playing at a brand-new Camp Nou and boasted legends such as Hungarian and Brazilian greats Ladislao Kubala and Evaristo de Macedo, who helped their side embark on a sequence of 39 consecutive wins in front of Culers.

Back to the modern era, 39 is still an important number because it’s the amount of home games that Barça have scored at least one goal consecutively in all competitions on Flick’s watch.

The current first team’s ability to find the net with remarkable ease, and their reliability in vertical play, have restored to Culers a sense of physical and tactical superiority that seemed to have been forgotten.

Flick has implemented a system of high pressing and quick transitions reminiscent of the best versions of the German steamroller, adapting it to the technical DNA of the Catalan club.

The keys to Hansi Flick’s success

Why is this team breaking records that have stood for over half a century?

There are three key factors:

Physical fitness: The increase in training intensity has enabled the team to maintain their pace throughout the 90 minutes.

Goal-scoring efficiency: With an aging but still scoring Robert Lewandowski plus Raphinha in top form, the team’s goals-per-game average is the highest in Europe’s major leagues.

Confidence in La Masia: The emergence of young talent not only brings a breath of fresh air but also maintains the identity needed to connect with the fans.

An FC Barcelona that inspires dreams

For the fans strolling through the streets of Barcelona, the mood is one of contained euphoria.

It’s been decades since we’ve seen such overwhelming dominance from the start of the league season through to the business end.

If key players remain fit and Flick’s tactics hold up, this outfit is destined to usher in a new era of dominance for our club.
