Jules Kounde Reaffirms Barcelona Commitment Amid Bayern Munich Transfer Interest

Jules Kounde has moved to calm talk of a Barcelona exit, insisting he remains fully committed to the club despite growing transfer interest from Bayern Munich.

According to a fresh update from Mundo Deportivo, Bayern’s hierarchy have made contact with Kounde’s entourage to sound out his willingness to leave Camp Nou, with the France international’s stock rising fast after a string of commanding displays alongside Dayot Upamecano and William Saliba at the 2026 World Cup. The 27-year-old has been a mainstay of France’s run to Tuesday’s World Cup semi-final against Spain in Dallas, form that has not gone unnoticed in Munich.

Kounde’s Contract Stance Complicates Bayern’s Pursuit

Kounde himself played down the speculation, telling reporters he has “a contract with Barcelona until 2030.” The defender wants to fight for his place under Hansi Flick once the World Cup ends rather than push for a move, according to sources close to the player.

Mundo Deportivo reports Barcelona would only sanction a sale for a fee close to 60 million euros, with Bayern yet to open formal negotiations and short of the funds to complete a deal without offloading Sacha Boey first.

Sky Sports, however, has downplayed the story altogether, reporting there are currently no talks or concrete plans in place between the two clubs, a reminder of how fluid Kounde’s situation remains just weeks before Barcelona reconvene for pre-season training under Flick.

For now, Kounde’s focus stays fixed on Dallas, where a place in the World Cup final is on the line before any fresh transfer talk resumes back in Catalonia.
