Dani Rodriguez Set To Leave Barcelona Atletic Amid Dinamo Zagreb Interest

Dani Rodriguez has decided to leave Barca Atletic this summer, with Dinamo Zagreb among the clubs interested in the 20-year-old winger, according to a fresh Mundo Deportivo report.

The Basque attacker still has one year left on his Barcelona contract, but the report says he is prioritising a sporting project that allows him to play at a higher level after two seasons with the reserve side. Rodriguez is said to be aware that first-team minutes are limited because he operates in the same wide areas as Lamine Yamal.

Dinamo Zagreb are named as one possible destination, although they are not described as the only club in the race. Barcelona now face a decision over how to protect their position before any exit is agreed.

Barcelona Must Decide How To Protect His Future

The key detail for Barca is not simply whether Rodriguez leaves, but the structure of the deal. Mundo Deportivo reports that a renewal before departure has not been ruled out, which would allow the club to keep more control over his future.

Another option would be a permanent transfer with a buy-back clause, a route Barcelona have used before when allowing young talents to develop elsewhere. For Rodriguez, the priority is minutes and a clearer pathway. For Barcelona, the danger is letting a La Masia winger walk without retaining an upside if his next step clicks.
