With Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford‘s future unclear, the club is evaluating alternative options and among them is Real Betis’ Abde Ezzalzouli, who initially left the Catalan club in 2023.
An FC Barcelona homecoming for Abde?
As ESPN’s Moises Llorens and Samuel Marsden report, the Blaugrana have lablled skillful Abde as a potential target this summer. The club maintains an option to re-sign the Moroccan international, in addition to having 50% of any future sale.
He isn’t the only option in the list, as a lot will also depend on what happens with Marcus Rashford, who will reportedly cost €30 million to buy outright.
Barça believe Abde is a player who perfectly fits what they are looking for in a winger, a wide player with pace who has the skill to beat his opponent.
He made 14 appearances in the senior team for Barça under Hansi Flick’s predecessor Xavi Hernandez, before his departure to Betis, and could provide positional rivalry to a currently injured Raphinha.
Who else is on FC Barcelona’s shortlist?
Other than Abde, the club is also keeping an eye on more players who could emerge as a potential target later this summer.
Among those widely reported are Jan Virgili, who plays for Mallorca after leaving FC Barcelona last year, and Victor Munoz, a player with an incredible breakthrough this season for club and country who has a La Masia and Real Madrid past.
On the other hand, Barça continue to work on Alessandro Bastoni, while simultaneously studying the feasibility and practicality of the Julian Alvarez operation.
